I Can't Believe I'm Questioning a Gridiron Genius, But Why Did Bill Belichick cut Doug Gabriel?
I just don’t understand why the Patriots released veteran wide receiver Doug Gabriel yesterday. It was obvious he had talent, based on his 24 catches in his first 7 or 8 games, but what happened in the last month? He appeared in only about 10 to 20 plays after he fumbled in a home loss to the New York Jets. But was that enough to have him benched and released from the team? I really like what he was providing, but absolutely nobody knows what happened to him. Reche fumbled 2 games ago, but nothing happened to him. I hope Bill will clear this up for us soon, and I bid good luck to Gabriel with the rest of his NFL carreer.
