I would hate to see us let Samuel go, I doubt his season was just a fluke. He will be the next shutdown cornerback in the nfl and we need to come to an agreement with him. i was upset to watch Ty Law go but at least we had him for awhile.

We did offer him a contract, but it was apparently not to his liking. The pats see him as a good CB who had one good year, while Asante sees himself on a Champ Bailey level. Maybe if another team views him with such high regard, we could get a good trade value out, but we won't pay him more than what 'Dre Bly gets (which is reportedly around what we offered)
