Vick

Although it has little if anything to do with the Pats I thought I’d chime in on Michael Vick’s legal troubles. In a previous post I casually dismissed the dog fighting scandal as Vick “playing too rough with dogs”. I certainly feel stupid now knowing the full extent of the accusations, including dogs being put to death. I love dogs as much as the next guy, probably more. Even vicious dogs deserve a humane existence. If the indictments are proven true, Michael Vick would be my least favorite NFL player
I just wish that the media would not rush to judge the guy. In our country we have a judicial process, where the accused is innocent until proven guilty, given a right to a trial before his peers and only after all evidence is presented before the accused can that jury find the defendant guilty. Who knows what is true and what the witnesses conjured up to save their behinds? This will surely be another difficult test of the judicial system as it involves celebrity, or any high profile case, like O.J. or Michael Jackson.
If the U.S. District court of law finds Vick guilty the Atlanta Falcons will be hard pressed to salvage their season, along with the next season and so on. Maybe they can draft a quarterback #1 overall after their dismal ‘07 season without Vick. Good thing they traded Schaub, huh?

I’m with you on the INNOCENT until proven guilty.
However if he is found guilty, I hope the courts use him as a poster child and give him the maximum amount time possible.
