Patriots Sign Chad Brown

First, I wanted to thank Andrew for running the site while I was away.  He did a great job on filling you guys in on everything.

And onto the news, the Patriots have announced the signing of veteran linebacker Chad Brown, as previously reported.  The deal will be one year, and worth the minimum.  Brown, 37, will be entering his third stint with the Patriots.  He played as a part-time starter in 2005, and was resigned for the 2006 season.  However, he was cut in training camp and resigned with the Steelers.

Once again, I believe that this move is solid.  Although Brown has lost most of his effectiveness, he can still be a good player that can come in for spot duty off the bench (that is, if he makes the team).
