Players Come Off of PUP, Attend Practice

According to Christopher L. Gatsber of Reiss’ Pieces, several players who were on PUP are at practice today:

Several PUPers are in uniform. Wide receivers Troy Brown, Donte’ Stallworth and Chad Jackson are all in uniform. Injured safety Rashad Baker, who is also in uniform, is making his first appearance of camp.

This is rather big news, as the competition for wide receiver will now heat up.  Troy Brown and Chad Jackson are fighting for roster spots, and need to prove what they can do.

Update: Stallworth is the only one off PUP.  At Monday’s practice, Chad Jackson nor Troy Brown were present.

I thought the PUP list was one way a veteran could avoid some of the grind of training camp. it’ll be interesting to see how Troy Brown gets used this season

Yeah, that’s kind of what Testaverde is doing. He’s not showing up until after two-a-days, when he will sign a contract. I guess that means now, or shortly after tommorrow’s game.
