Patriots Acquire Dante Wesley in Trade, Sign Rivers
Posted Under: Uncategorized
The Patriots made two moves today. First, they traded a conditional seventh round draft choice to the Chicago Bears for cornerback Dante Wesley. Wesley has had some production throughout his career, a good portion of which have come on special teams. Wesley should be able to compete for a roster spot, with the team relatively thin at cornerback.
The Patriots also signed tight end Marcellus Rivers. Rivers is a big body, and should provide some depth at tight end, with Mills and Kranchick being the only tight ends on the field today. He has some experience, and could help in training camp, but is a long shot to make the roster.
