Training Camp Notes: Week 4
Posted Under: Uncategorized
The Patriots have wrapped up their fourth week of training camp (except for a walkthrough tommorrow). The Patriots second preseason game is against the Titans on Friday night. I would expect the starters to play well into the second quarter. I’ve been away, and haven’t been able to update the site as much, but here are some practice notes from the week:
Mike Richardson: Followed up his strong preseason opener with a strong week of practice. He picked off some passes and broke up some well thrown passes with stellar passes.
Kareem Brown: Moved up the depth charts, to the second unit, over LeKevin Smith. He has been creating havoc along the line, and looks like he deserves the second round pick a lot of mocks had him projected at.
Junior Seau: For the first time in training camp, Junior Seau was not wearing a red non-contact jersey, meaning he is ready to step back into full contact.
Randy Moss: Was on/off the whole week. He took part in some lighter workouts and missed some of the heavier ones. His injury is likely not too serious.
Punters: Josh Miller has been struggling big-time, and the two youngsters Danny Baugher and Tom Malone have been stepping it up. The two were actually practicing holding, so it looks like they may actually be pushing Miller for the starting job.
Jabar Gaffney: Continues to be tremendous. When I say this, I’m not kidding: He might actually be able to push himself into a starting job. They way he is playing now, he would have to screw up big time not to make the team. That leaves Reche Caldwell and Kelley Washington vying for a job.
I will try to update the site after the game on Friday (I will be back Saturday afternoon)
