In a seemingly surprising move, the Patriots released Artrell Hawkins today. Hawkins had been with the team since 2005, when he filled in productively for an injury depleted secondary. Hawkins was injured over a week ago at practice with an undisclosed injury, which may have had an impact on his release.
More importantly, the release of [...]
Both were longshots to make the team. Germara Williams was a second year corner who was on and off with the team last year. Bissinger was a rookie linebacker. Both had injuries leading up to their releases.
The Patriots were once again victim to a late field goal, as they dropped their second of two preseason games. The quarterbacks were slacking, but the receivers were moving, and there were some great individual performances to report.
- Le Kevin Smith: Started at LE, and made an impact, making 5 tackles and a sack.
- Reche [...]
The Patriots took care of one of their biggest problems, by signing a contract extension with Ty Warren today. The contract will run through 2011.
This is a very vital move to the stability of the Patriot’s defense. Warren is arguably the best player on that unit, and is VERY underrated. Every game he wreaks havoc, [...]
The Patriots claimed rookie Chris Patrick off waivers today. If you remember, Patrick was eligable for the supplemental draft back in July. I’m not sure if he’s NFL caliber, but he’s definately worth a look. Even before the draft, the rookie tackle said he would be honored to play for the Pats. He has good [...]
Well, the youth has finally caught up to Josh Miller. In what seemed like an inevitable move, the Patriots released Josh Miller. The two first-year players (on practice squad last year) Danny Baugher and Tom Malone have supplanted him for the starting job. Now it is up to one of those two to separate themselves [...]
The Patriots have wrapped up their fourth week of training camp (except for a walkthrough tommorrow). The Patriots second preseason game is against the Titans on Friday night. I would expect the starters to play well into the second quarter. I’ve been away, and haven’t been able to update the site as much, but here are [...]
The Patriots dropped their preseason opener 13-10, to the Buccaneers on Friday night. The score doesn’t matter as much as player’s individual performances. So, the following is a list of players who stood out to me:
Matt Gutierrez: played well as the team’s quarterback in the second half. Went 6/10 for 66 and had a strong [...]
The Patriots will open up their 2007 preseason against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers tonight at 7:30 in Tampa. After a busy and crazy offseason, football is already here, and I’m excited. But before the regular season, is of course, the preseason. I personally really enjoy the preseason, because as I passionate fan, it is my [...]
