Pats Cleared of Further Charges

Mike Reiss’s blog says that the NFL higher ups are cool with what the Patriots have turned over and will destroy everything they surrendered. Looks like the threatened audio-espionage won’t accumulate into anything real. It’s about time we put this to bed. The penalty was too tough anyway, considering that it is just a technicality where the video camera is located. How hard would it be to put it somewhere in the stands? How many thousands of people pass through security and one camera couldn’t pass through?
But we have the Bills ahead of us this Sunday. Back to normalcy for the Patriots, 1:00 start against a lackluser opponent. An easy win it should be but that is why they play the games, no? Lets hope for no first play of the game fumbles by Brady, although with this offensive line I would bet against that. I would like to see Maroney rack up more yards but as long as the rest of the running game produces that doesn’t really matter.
Whatever happens I’ll be there as the Patsblog correspondent bringing back all useful info.

So, in this your saying violating rules is no big deal?
Lets allow everyone 1 dose of steroids, I mean its not like they’ll be constantly taking them, right?
Rules are rules(or laws, depends on your view, I suppose) and intentionally thumbing your nose at people who enforce those rules by completely ignoring a warning that these actions won’t be tolerated is EXACTLY why the punishment was so harsh.
Do you truly believe that because its ‘Belichick’, we should just ignore it? Allow him, and only him, to challenge and break the rule of law? I’d be willing to bet if it was the Colts accused of this action, you New England fans would be all over how the Colts cheated to win, so get over yourselves, accept what the judge gives as a fine, obey the rules from now on, and all this goes away.
As long as people out there show support for these actions through stupid comments like the punishment was too harsh, the Patriots will continue to have a black eye with the rest of the country.
