Terrence Wheatley A-wristed?
Yes, I understand, it’s a really corny and bad title, but I couldn’t resist.
One of Terrence Wheatley’s main issues coming out of college were his wrists. Throughout his career, he had terrible wrist injuries, that caused him to miss a lot of time, as well as have metal plates inserted into his wrists.
When the Patriots selected Wheatley, they picked him knowing the history with his wrists; it was a calculated risk.
Wheatley made a couple of nice plays Sunday night against the Colts, but he went down with a hand injury in the third quarter. Then, on yesterday’s participation report, Wheatley did not participate due to a…. wait for it…. wrist injury.
As far as I see it, this could represent a major problem for Wheatley. I’m no doctor, but it looks like his wrist troubles may be back, and if he has to undergo more surgery, he could be done for the year. The signing of Jason Webster is likely a hint that Wheatley is done for a while.
