Source: Pioli Closer to Chiefs Job
A league source has informed PatriotsBlog.net that the Kansas City Chiefs have offered Scott Pioli the G.M. job, and a deal could be struck at any time (meaning, a deal could be right around the corner).
While I don’t know the accuracy of this source (especially considering K.C.’s secrecy in this matter), it seems that the Chiefs are one of Pioli’s last two options. The other, of course, it to remain with the Patriots. The field was narrowed to two teams after the Browns (widely considered the leading suitor for Pioli’s services) hired Eric Mangini.
Other reports are also saying Pioli is close with the Chiefs, but I wouldn’t be too surprised if he stayed with the Patriots.
