Patriots free agent running back Lamont Jordan has reportedy agreed to terms with the Denver Broncos on a two year deal worth $2.5 million.

I’m very disappointed to see Jordan go, but not surprised (especially considering Fred Taylor). Personally, I though Jordan was the Patriots’ best back last season. He was certainly powerful, but showcased a very nice burst as well.

Down the stretch, he turned into a serious workhorse for the Patriots, and if the Pats had made the playoffs, he might have been the focal point of the offense, carrying the ball upwards of 20-25 times a game.

However, when all was said and done, this was just a one year, prove-it deal. And that is exactly what Lamont Jordan did. I wish him the best of luck with the Broncos, and I have a feeling he could have a very big year.
