Patriots Release Matt Gutierrez

The Patriots have shaken up their quarterback depth chart tonight, releasing third-year veteran Matt Gutierrez, according to a league source.
This likely means two things. First, the Patriots will likely announce the signing of Cleo Lemon very soon. And second, Matt Gutierrez, who had his preseason moments in New England, will be on the next plane to Denver or Kansas City.
UPDATE: Pro Football Talk is reporting that the Patriots will instead sign former Raiders’ quarterback Andrew Walter.
