Pats Cut Six

The Patriots have begun the process of trimming their roster to 53.
Today, the Patriots announced the release of quarterback Andrew Walter, guard Billy Yates, defensive lineman Steve Williams, linebacker Vinny Ciurciu, wide receiver Robert Ortiz, and safety Roderick Rogers.
Of that group, Andrew Walter is the only surprise, while Yates, Williams, and Ciurciu were bubble players, and Ortiz and Rogers were longer shots. The release of Walter leaves the Patriots with only two options at quarterback. MVP Tom Brady, and undrafted rookie free agent Brian Hoyer. Walter’s release may be a precursor to the Pats swinging a deal for Philadelphia Eagles quarterback A.J. Feeley.
